Email campaigns — BYOK senders, sequences, tracking
Build drip sequences that send from your domain via your provider.
BYOK = bring your own key
Sambandh doesn't mark up per-subscriber. Connect your own Resend, Postmark, Amazon SES, SendGrid, or any SMTP server. Emails go out via your account, billing flows through that provider, deliverability reputation accrues to your domain — not to a shared Sambandh sender pool.
Connecting a sender
Pick a provider
Resend / Postmark / Amazon SES / SendGrid / SMTP. Each has slightly different setup requirements; the form walks you through them.
Provide credentials
API key for Resend / Postmark / SendGrid; access key + secret for SES; host + port + username + password for SMTP. We encrypt with AES-256-GCM before storing.
Verify
We send a no-content test message via your provider. Pass = sender is live. Fail = the form shows the exact provider error message.
Set DNS (provider-side)
Each provider has its own DKIM / SPF / DMARC setup. Their dashboards walk you through it. We don't manage DNS for you.
Building a campaign
New campaign
Campaigns → New campaign. Name it for yourself ("Cold outbound — Series A SaaS founders"). Pick the sender from the dropdown.
New campaignPick a recipient list
A saved view (recommended), a tag, or a manually selected contact list. Sambandh excludes anyone marked unsubscribed automatically.
Author your sequence
Add steps. Each step is one email + a delay (e.g. "Day 0: intro", "Day 3: follow-up if no reply", "Day 7: breakup if still no reply"). Use {{first_name}}, {{company}}, etc. for personalization.
Test send
Click Send test → enter your own email. The exact email a real recipient would get, including merge fields, lands in your inbox so you can review.
Schedule + start
Schedule the campaign start (now / specific time / specific day-of-week-only). The sequencer sends at the per-recipient cadence you set, with anti-spam rate limits.
Tracking and replies
- Opens — pixel-based; counts as opened when the recipient's client loads images.
- Clicks — link rewriting tracks which links got clicked, by whom.
- Replies — the email-sync integration detects replies and stops the sequence for that recipient automatically.
- Bounces / spam complaints — tracked via your provider's webhook; auto-mark the contact unsubscribed and skip future sends.
Open tracking has gotten unreliable since Apple Mail Privacy (2021). Use replies + clicks as your primary signal. Open rate is directional, not authoritative.
Unsubscribe handling
Every campaign email automatically appends an unsubscribe link. One click, contact is marked unsubscribed across the whole CRM (not just this campaign), and they're excluded from all future campaigns. Unsubscribe is irrevocable from our side — they can re-opt-in only by emailing you directly.
