Email sync — Gmail and Outlook
Wire your inbox so every reply lands on the right contact, automatically.
What sync does
- Pulls inbound + outbound email between you and any contact in your CRM, attaches it to the contact timeline.
- Read-only by default. Outbound sends from inside Sambandh are off until you turn them on.
- Per-user — each teammate connects their own inbox; emails are scoped to that user (other teammates don't see your private threads).
- Encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. Tokens are encrypted before storage.
Connecting Gmail
Authorize via Google
You'll be redirected to Google's OAuth consent screen. We request: read messages (for sync), send messages (only if you flip "Send from Sambandh" on), and read labels (so we can scope sync to specific labels if you want).
Pick scope
Default: sync everything from contacts in your CRM. Optional: limit to a specific Gmail label (e.g. only "Sales" thread). The narrower the scope, the less of your inbox we touch.
Wait for backfill
We backfill the last 90 days of emails with your CRM contacts. Bigger inboxes take longer; you'll get an email when it's done.
Connecting Outlook / Microsoft 365
Same flow, different button: Settings → Email → Connect Outlook. Microsoft Graph OAuth. Same scope choices, same backfill behavior.
Disconnecting
Settings → Email → Disconnect. Sync stops immediately. Already-synced emails stay on contact timelines (so your history isn't lost), but no new emails come in. To also revoke our token from your Google/Microsoft account, do it from your provider's "Apps with access" page.
Disconnecting only stops new sync. If you also want to delete already-synced emails from your CRM, use Settings → Privacy → Delete email history (irreversible).
